The New Brunswick Performing Arts Center (NBPAC) is a state-of-the-art theater and cultural attraction in the heart of downtown New Brunswick. The NBPAC features two grand theatre venues, stage-sized rehearsal studios, and practice studios used by Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts. Above this are The Premiere Residences—207 luxury high-rise apartments with convenient access to both local transit and built-in amenities. The NBPAC is a pillar in the redesign of downtown New Brunswick and draws tens of thousands of visitors to the city every year. It was recognized with a 2020 Smart Growth Award from New Jersey Future.
ReVireo worked with New Brunswick Development Corporation (DEVCO) to deliver the expert consulting necessary for this project to achieve LEED Silver equivalency and demonstrate compliance with the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) Green Building Standards, allowing it to take advantage of NJEDA financing programs.
Throughout the construction process, ReVireo reviewed materials used, provided essential consulting, and advised at critical strategy points to ensure goals were met. Upon completion of the NBPAC, ReVireo produced all documentation demonstrating LEED compliance for submission to the NJEDA. Ultimately, the project was able to demonstrate 12% energy savings and comply with NJEDA Green Building Standards by meeting its LEED Silver equivalency requirements.
