Rutgers College Avenue Campus Redevelopment

Overview

The $300+ million initiative included the construction of a new 200,000+ sqft. College Avenue Academic Building, a new 160,000+ sqft. Honors College, and a new 200,000+ sqft. new mixed-use student apartment complex.

To comply with the green building requirements of a public financing tax credit, this project pursued LEED-Silver Certification for all three buildings under the LEED 2009 for New Construction & Major Renovations rating system. In order to achieve this objective, ReVireo provided a customized LEED Certification package including LEED AP consulting and project management services.

This included consulting throughout all design phases to ensure design achieved targeted levels of energy savings vs. ASHRAE Standard 90.1 for LEED and Pay for Performance, as well as necessary prerequisites/credits to achieve LEED Silver.  Throughout construction ReVireo completed on site verification and reviewed and tracked project submittals to document compliance with all standardsReVireo coordinated all related efforts between the design and construction teams through the design, construction, and occupancy of the buildings.  This project was awarded almost $1 million in rebates from NJ Pay for Performance program and was selected as the “2017 Innovative School Project of the Year” by the NJ Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council.
